This position will join our India team, operating out of our Bangalore office where we have nearly 100 team members.

Role Description:

As a Tech Lead at CData, you will play a pivotal role in building our flagship cloud product: Connect Cloud. You’ll focus on developing scalable backend services and systems as part of a modern, cloud-native SaaS platform designed for multi-tenancy. In addition to core platform development, you’ll also contribute to new initiatives that leverage AI technologies, including the use of large language models (LLMs) and tools like LangChain4j, to enhance user experience and streamline workflows. Your expertise will help deliver reliable, high-performance features that are both innovative and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to devise innovative solutions for product design.
  • Guides the technical direction of projects, including architecture and design.
  • Design, develop and maintain software solutions using Java in a microservice architecture.
  • Engage fully in sprint planning, sizing and estimating processes, daily stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate on new AI initiatives involving using tools such as LangChain4j, Model-Context-Protocol, RAG, etc.
  • Develop code that is secure, performant, and scalable.
  • Write unit tests and debug code to ensure robustness and reliability.
  • Do POCs & research, present on technologies applicable to the team.
  • Provide training and mentor junior team members.
  • Learn new technology and language as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming & tooling in Java.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL & query writing with MSSQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Demonstrated excellence in troubleshooting, debugging and data performance tuning.
  • Experience in development of automated unit and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with development tools including Intellij/VS Code, Git, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
  • Experience in cloud native enterprise SaaS application design and development.
  • Expertise in microservice architecture, RESTful/Web APIs, and general design patterns, performance tuning.
  • Ready to contribute to the design and implementation of AI-driven initiatives.
  • Nice to have: Experience with LangChain4j
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with Model Context Protocol.
  • Nice to have: Azure, Docker, Kubernetes experience. 
  • Nice to have: Worked with Kotlin 
  • Nice to have: Worked with and built web applications using TypeScript and ReactJS 
  • Nice to have: Worked with C#
