Integrate Bullhorn CRM data with standard components and data source configuration wizards in RapidMiner Studio.
This article shows how you can easily integrate the CData JDBC driver for Bullhorn CRM into your processes in RapidMiner. This article uses the CData JDBC Driver for Bullhorn CRM to transfer Bullhorn CRM data to a process in RapidMiner.
Connect to Bullhorn CRM in RapidMiner as a JDBC Data Source
You can follow the procedure below to establish a JDBC connection to Bullhorn CRM:
- Add a new database driver for Bullhorn CRM: Click Connections -> Manage Database Drivers.
- In the resulting wizard, click the Add button and enter a name for the connection.
- Enter the prefix for the JDBC URL:
jdbc:bullhorncrm:
- Enter the path to the cdata.jdbc.bullhorncrm.jar file, located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory.
- Enter the driver class:
cdata.jdbc.bullhorncrm.BullhornCRMDriver
- Create a new Bullhorn CRM connection: Click Connections -> Manage Database Connections.
- Enter a name for your connection.
- For Database System, select the Bullhorn CRM driver you configured previously.
- Enter your connection string in the Host box.
Begin by providing your Bullhorn CRM account credentials in the following:
- DataCenterCode: Set this to the data center code which responds to your data center. Refer to the list of data-center-specific Bullhorn API URLs: https://bullhorn.github.io/Data-Center-URLs/
If you are uncertain about your data center code, codes like CLS2, CLS21, etc. are cluster IDs that are contained in a user's browser URL (address bar) once they are logged in.
Example: https://cls21.bullhornstaffing.com/BullhornSTAFFING/MainFrame.jsp?#no-ba... indicates that the logged in user is on CLS21.
Authenticating with OAuth
Bullhorn CRM uses the OAuth 2.0 authentication standard. To authenticate using OAuth, create and configure a custom OAuth app. See the Help documentation for more information.
Built-in Connection String Designer
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Bullhorn CRM JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.bullhorncrm.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
A typical connection string is below:
DataCenterCode=CLS33;OAuthClientId=myoauthclientid;OAuthClientSecret=myoauthclientsecret;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH
- Enter your username and password if necessary.
You can now use your Bullhorn CRM connection with the various RapidMiner operators in your process. To retrieve Bullhorn CRM data, drag the Retrieve operator from the Operators view.
With the Retrieve operator selected, you can then define which table to retrieve in the Parameters view by clicking the folder icon next to the "repository entry." In the resulting Repository Browser, you can expand your connection node to select the desired example set.

Finally, wire the output to the Retrieve process to a result, and run the process to see the Bullhorn CRM data.
