Access Live GMO MakeShop Data in Excel for the Web (Excel 365/Online) through Connect Spreadsheets

Microsoft Excel for the web represents a cloud-native iteration of Microsoft Excel. When combined with Connect Spreadsheets by CData, you gain immediate access to GMO MakeShop data directly within Excel, facilitating data analysis, collaboration, calculations, and more. This article shows how to connect to GMO MakeShop in Connect Spreadsheets and access and update live GMO MakeShop data in Excel spreadsheets online.

Connectivity to GMO MakeShop from Excel is made possible through Connect Spreadsheets . To work with GMO MakeShop data from Excel, we start by creating and configuring a GMO MakeShop connection.

1. Log into Connect Spreadsheets, click Connections and click Add Connection
2. Select "GMO MakeShop" from the Add Connection panel
3. Enter the necessary authentication properties to connect to GMO MakeShop.

   Configuring Access to GMO MakeShop

   GMO MakeShop requires AccessCode for each API. To obtain MembersAccessCode, OrdersAccessCode, ProductsAccessCode, and ShopId, follow the steps below:

   • Log in to the GMO MakeShop Store Manager and click Create Shop.
   • Click any target connection setting from External System Connection in the left-hand navigation menu. If you cannot find it in the menu, please contact GMO Makeshop.
   • Product Data Connection Settings: Click Issue to retrieve the authentication code and ProductsAccessCode.
   • Order Data Connection Settings: First select Get Order Information > Change Order Information settings. Then click Issue to retrieve the authentication code and OrdersAccessCode.
   • Members Data Connection Settings: Select Get/Post/Update/Delete Members Information settings. Then click Issue to retrieve the authentication code and MembersAccessCode.

   Authenticating to GMO MakeShop Account

   Set the following connection properties to connect:

   • ShopId: Set the GMO MakeShop Store ID of the connection destination. The GMO MakeShop Store ID is the same as the ID for login.
   • OrdersAccessCode: Set the orders access code retrieved from Order Data Connection Settings. This property is required to access the Orders table.
   • ProductsAccessCode: Set the products access code retrieved from Product Data Connection Settings. This property is required to access the Products table.
   • MembersAccessCode: Set the members access code retrieved from Members Data Connection Settings. This property is required to access the Members table.
   • MemberAuthenticationCode: Set the member authentication code retrieved from Members Authentication Connection Settings. This property is required to execute MemberAuthenticationConfirm.
   • Password: Specify the password for the GMO MakeShop Store Manager login user. This property is required to execute ProductCategoryRegistrationOrModification, ProductMemberGroupPriceRegistrationOrModification, ProductOptionRegistrationOrModification, and ProductRegistrationOrModification.
   
4. Click Create & Test

Access Live GMO MakeShop Data in Excel for the web

The steps below outline connecting to Connect Spreadsheets from Excel to access live GMO MakeShop data.

1. Log into Excel, create a new sheet (or open an existing one).
2. Click Insert and click Office Add-ins. (If you have already installed the Add-In, jump to step 4.)
3. Search for Connect Spreadsheets and click "Get it now" to install the Add-in.
4. Back in Excel, open the Data ribbon select and click the Connect Spreadsheets "Get Data" button.
5. In the Add-In panel, click "Log in" to sign into and authenticate with your Connect Spreadsheets account
6. In the Connect Spreadsheets panel in Excel, click Import
7. Choose a Connection (e.g. GMOMakeShop1), Table (e.g. Members), and Columns to import
8. Optionally add Filters, Sorting, and a Limit
9. Click Execute to import the data

Update GMO MakeShop Data from Excel

In addition to viewing GMO MakeShop data in Excel, Connect Spreadsheets also lets you update and delete GMO MakeShop data. Begin by importing data (as described above).

1. Update any cell or cells with changes you want to push to GMO MakeShop
2. In the Connect Spreadsheets Add-In panel, select Update
3. Optionally highlight the cell(s) you wish to update and select an update option ("Update All" or "Update Selected")
4. Click Execute to push the updates to GMO MakeShop
